How long does the customs clearance process typically take?

The time frame can vary depending on factors like paperwork accuracy and potential inspections. We work diligently to expedite the process.

How long does it take for the car to be Customs Released and ready for pickup at at the Port?

Vehicle import times can vary depending on the vehicle origin, which marine port it arrived at, and time required for a Customs Vehicle Inspection. But it typically takes 1-3 weeks before the vehicle is Customs Released and ready for pickup. It is not same day as Customs Inspections can take time to complete.

How does pricing at AutoHUB Europe work?

We operate on a flat-fee structure with no markups on vehicles or services. All costs are clearly outlined upfront, ensuring transparency throughout the purchase and import process.

What are the import duties and taxes involved?

We can help calculate these based on the car's value and origin. However, local regulations may apply, so consulting with a customs broker is recommended.

What are the age requirements for importing a European car to the USA or Canada?

Yes! Classic cars can be imported without needing to meet modern safety and emissions standards if they meet the following age requirements:

  • USA: The car must be 25 years or older from the date of manufacture to qualify for exemption under the 25-Year Import Rule (U.S. Code 49 CFR 591.5).
  • Canada: The car must be 15 years or older from the date of manufacture to qualify for exemption under the 15-Year Import Rule (Transport Canada regulations).
