About the Founder
Passion for Land Rovers and Market Opportunity
Ryan McKernan has been a passionate Land Rover enthusiast for over three decades, owning multiple models throughout the years. His love for these iconic vehicles led him to identify a significant gap in the North American market: a shortage of reasonably priced, high-quality Land Rover Defenders. Seizing this opportunity, Ryan founded and operated LR Imports Auto in September 2012, a business dedicated to sourcing, restoring, and delivering Land Rover Defenders from Europe to North American clients.
Building Expertise and International Networks
With a Business Degree focused on Business & Entrepreneurship, and a major in International Trade, Shipping, and Importation, Ryan has developed the expertise to build a trusted network of suppliers and shipping partners across Europe. Over the years, he has perfected proven methods for sourcing high-quality vehicles and efficiently managing every step of the process. Through AutoHUB Europe, Ryan brings this knowledge and dedication to each client interaction, ensuring they receive the best vehicles with seamless, reliable service.
The First European Vehicle Purchase
The journey began in September 2012 when Ryan completed his first European vehicle purchase in Ravenna, Italy. He flew out to inspect and purchase a 1998 Land Rover Defender 110. Ryan then embarked on a memorable road trip through the Italian Alps, into France, and finally to England, where he sourced the restoration parts. After combining the vehicle and the parts, he shipped the Defender from Southampton, UK. This first purchase marked the beginning of what would become a successful venture, with Ryan overseeing every aspect of the acquisition, restoration, and importation processes.
